Museum is fun for both kids and adults. We really enjoyed doing experiment at the LAB and watching chain reaction performance. You can easily spend 4-3 hours inside. The tickets were sold out due to public holiday, but it's possible to get them if someone reschedules, so keep checking. There were some tickets available on the spot, but better to reserve in advance. Entrance is free with museumkaart but you still need to reserve tickets online. Parking at the Oosterdok lot was convenient and costs €25 for the whole day.
The NEMO Science Museum is one of the most fun and interactive attractions in Amsterdam, especially for anyone curious about science and technology. Its unique ship-like design already makes it stand out before you even enter. Inside, the museum is full of hands-on experiments, interactive exhibits, and activities that make learning genuinely entertaining for both kids and adults. From physics and chemistry to engineering and the human body, everything is designed to be engaging and easy to explore. The rooftop terrace is also a highlight, offering great views over Amsterdam. It’s educational, interactive, and a fantastic experience for all ages.
Nemu Science Museum is a must for both kids and adults! It is a great museum and expect to stay many hours and not the 2-3h which is the usual… we arrived at 11 and stayed until 17:30 (closing) and it was NOT boring. You have things for both kids and adults, scientific lab experimenting, technical experimenting/building, the human body, magnetism, water, physics etc etc. There is a huge (not cheap) restaurant at the top so you will also not be hungry… In short just go and enjoy. There are lockers at the bottom that works with 50 eur cent coins so prepare. Toilettes on each floor and they are clean!
We could have spent the whole day here. It was great for all ages. We had a 2 yr old and there was something on each floor for him too. I guess toddlers just enjoyed the openness. Water play on 2nd floor kept him occupied for ages.
I really enjoyed visiting here whilst in Amsterdam, there are a range of activities and it is really fun walking around and learning as you go on each floor. I would say this is good for individuals, couples or families. There is something for everyone and it’s easy to lose track of time when walking around (I would personally recommend visiting off-peak and during the week when it’s less busy).
