Modern villas with kitchenettes in a high-end resort offering multiple pools & dining options.via Google

Useful for a calmer drink with a view over the lagoon and the hotel strip. It is one of the better bets when you want to step away from the club circuit.

This resort is 18 years old, but you could not tell as it has been constantly maintained and updated. They let us check in at 12:30 at no extra charge. When the door to the room opened it was so chill, I mean the AC was set to 66 degrees. We readjusted the temp but it remained a little too cool the entire time. The 1 bedroom unit has a large refrigerator and a cooktop, but lacks some basic amenities that you can purchase from the convenience store. There is a 2 person jetted tub in the room. I tried to use it, but there wasn't any hot water to fill it with, it was odd because the rest of the unit had plenty of hot water. It wasn't worth calling maintenance because we used the outside hot tubs. The views or optimized to see the shore. The pools are nice, but none are deeper than 4 feet. They must be saltwater pools, because I never smelled chlorine, which is really nice. If you are going to purchase a time share this is a good option, because the maintenance fees are lower. We had a lovely time there, the employees are very accommodating and friendly. The restaurants are fine, the breakfast buffet had every option you could imagine. We didn't do any of the specialty nights, but the sports bar had some great offerings. We probably won't return, but we had a great time and recommend it.

I am a bit torn about what to write - there were pluses and minuses but overall, I don't think it's value for the money spent. I picked this hotel as a Bonvoy silver member and because of the location. The hotel is massive and has multiple pools as well as a lovely beach front. I booked a 1 bed room but got a glorified studio. Really disappointed. Things we enjoyed: our balcony, the in-room washer/dryer (with soap provided), the white sand beach and the location. The staff we encountered at the pool and beach were friendly and helpful. Shower was lovely too. Things we didn't enjoy: the bed is way too soft, breakfast buffet was lacking for us and geared toward American tastes (very little International options) with not the highest quality, beach/pool chairs at the front were all taken before 7.30am, even though no one was in them until much later. I also saw a film of something on the water in the pool twice in 5 days - I think a mixture of tanning lotion plus spilled drinks so the pool should be cleaned more regularly. The elevators are old and slow so we gave gave up and walked. No water given at all in the rooms which is shocking - this is standard in 3* hotels. It would be great if they offered free drinking water at the pool especially as it's so hot in the sun. A Marriott property in UAE offered still or sparkling water machine for free all day and that was the best amenity I have ever had at a pool. Also, better signage around the property - it's quite massive and easy to get lost. Finally, stop trying to get me to buy into the vacation club - we just wanted a holiday to relax.

This place is billed as a 5 Star resort. This place is absolutely horrible. The staff is rude and unhelpful. The location is nice, but the amount of issues I’ve had to deal with in 3 days has been alarming. Day one, the WiFi in my room goes out. The staff would not listen to the issue for 2 hours and then we had to be moved. We had a prime ocean view room, we were relocated to a trash room that has a view of the dirty fountain. The trash room we were moved to has puddles of water on the bedroom floor. I brought it to their attention. They said it’s condensation, so I used a bath towel to dry the water. Day two, woke up to more water puddles in the bedroom. I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance person to fix the weather stripping. It took 1.5 hours and left the room smelling like industrial solvent. We go out for the day, have dinner, return to more water on the floor. Complained… nothing. Additional detail, the trash room they moved us to is on a dead end hallway with no second exit and only one elevator shaft. Day three, they have a second maintenance man come redo the weather stripping again, more strong solvent smell. We go out for the day and return to the elevators being broken. I go to the front desk and they’re rude. Offer me to take the other elevator bank. I advise that we’re on a dead end hallway. She says, “trust me you can go that way”. I say, ok, I’ll humor you. I do it and just as I stated, I cannot pass that way. I go back to the front desk and they refuse to get me the manager. This place is horrible and I do not recommend. The service and amenities erase any benefit to location. Plus the beach is unusable due to massive seaweed deposits on the shore. Worst damn experience ever, and I still have to stay here another night… please don’t expect a 5 Star experience here.

This is our favourite resort in Mexico and well known as a gold standard for resorts on the strip. The staff and incredibly friendly, with faces we see year after year. The facilities and very clean and plentiful. The food and drinks are good but it is worth going off resort and trying the restaurants nearby as well.

I would describe this property as operating more like a timeshare resort than a traditional hotel—and the age of the buildings reflects that. **The Good** The pools are excellent and very well maintained. The water is consistently clean, and I’d rank them among the better pool experiences across Marriott properties. **The Okay** The food is average—nothing particularly memorable, but consistent with typical hotel pricing and quality. **The Bad** The buildings feel dated, and the overall guest experience suffers because of it. Customer service is the biggest drawback: interactions feel transactional, with staff strictly adhering to policy rather than trying to enhance the guest experience. For example, even on a 10-night stay at around $600 per night, you could be assigned a room with an obstructed view—despite booking an ocean-view category. While technically within policy, there’s little willingness to accommodate or improve the situation, which is disappointing at this price point. **Beach & Pool Policy** The towel system is rigid—one card per towel, no exceptions. It’s a small detail, but it adds to the overall inflexibility of the experience. **Bottom Line** This property seems designed for a different type of guest, likely those familiar with timeshare-style stays. For travelers expecting a more service-oriented, hospitality-driven experience, it falls short. I wouldn’t return, and it has made me reconsider Westin as a brand.
