I’ve been wanting to try this place due to the hype and let me tell you, I understand it. It truly is that good. The service was great and the food was delicious. It’s not your typical Cuban dishes as I initially anticipated but it’s their twist on staple dishes and drinks. We were also pleasantly surprised that it was happy hour when we arrived. To drink, I tried the Vanilla Carajillo, which is their take on espresso martini, and it was delicious. I’m not much of a coffee drinker but I enjoyed this drink. Between 6-7 pm, they have 99 cents martini. I ordered one and it was very strong, dirty and delicious. To eat, we tried a few dishes. We first started with Beltran’s Bacon. It was the best thickest bacon I have tried. We also ordered the Bao con Croqueta and it was delicious. This twist to bao buns was very interesting but the flavors worked very well together. As the main entree, I had the Plantain Crusted Snapper and it was so tasty. It came with a lot of mojo onions, which I enjoyed. The snapper was cooked to perfection. As a dessert, we tried the Arroz con Leche Blintz and it was so tasty. I’ve never had anything like this and I loved it. The best way to describe it like a rice pudding in a crepe with fruits on top. I would definitely return to this establishment again and either order different dishes or repeating the ones I tried already because they were that good. The service was amazing as the ladies kept checking in on us. We did have to ask them to replace a cup as there was something in it and they immediately did it. We were there talking for a few hours and not once did we feel rushed. They also provided some amazing suggestions from the menu and I’m glad we listened to them because everything was delicious. I absolutely love when the hype is real for places like Chug’s Diner.
I've been wanting to try Chug's Diner since I saw their massive cast iron pancake on Instagram. The only problem was chugs is in Miami and I live in Orlando which is a pretty good drive away, but just so happens this week we had to be in Miami so chugs was first on the list 🤤 as soon as you walk in, you definitely get comfort diner vibes with a Cuban twist❤️. The staff is very friendly and they get you squared away pretty quickly. Once I looked at the menu I had a hard time choosing between the pancake and the churro waffle, but one of the waitresses persuaded me to go for the tried and true which was the pancake so that's what I aimed for. It came out as big as the plate and extremely delicious. Very crispy all the way across the top and sides and topped with flaked salt, butter and drenched in maple syrup. This is literally the best pancake I've ever eaten and I've eaten a lot of pancakes in my 40 years of living. I also ordered the home fries topped with grated Parmesan cheese and served alongside a tangy and slightly sweet dipping sauce which was also very delicious. My girlfriend ordered Pan Con Bistec which is like a cheesesteak, but on steroids with real cuts of steak 😋, not that paper thin crap that melts before you bite it. The portion sizes were huge and everything came out hot and delicious. We were only able to finish half our meals, but believe me the other half is sitting in the refrigerator waiting to be reheated correctly and then devoured. Chug's is definitely a must try and I will try to stop in every time I'm in Miami from now on. Thank you Chug's Diner for a great breakfast experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I appreciate the experience because it reminded me that menu photos and reality can sometimes exist in completely different worlds. I arrived with high expectations and, unfortunately, the presentation of the dishes was surprising—though probably not in the way the restaurant intended. I’ve always believed that food should first appeal to the eyes, but in this case, my eyes seemed to be having a very different experience from the chef’s vision. Beyond the taste, there appeared to be a lack of care, attention to detail, and presentation expected from a restaurant aiming to provide a quality dining experience. I sincerely hope this was an exception rather than a reflection of the restaurant’s usual standards. I wish you success and trust that improvements can be made, because the ability to disappoint has already been mastered quite impressively.
We had such a great experience at Chugs Diner! The flat iron pancake was incredible — perfectly cooked and seriously delicious. Honestly, all of the food we ordered was amazing. The service was excellent and the atmosphere made it even better — welcoming, comfortable, and just an overall great vibe. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to! 🥞✨
I loved every single bite I put in my mouth. Our server Rennedy was great, however the host and other server staff were cold. It took a while to get seated because no one was at the hosting table and when she came she was on her phone. I would come back because the lechón croquetas were the best croquetas I’ve ever devoured and I’m Puerto Rican. Had the avocado sandwich and my god, I saw the heavens. The cast iron pancake is good but only great with a bite of butter
