We brought a group of friends last night after dining here in 2009 with our 5 and 9 year old children. I'm happy to say that Robataya continues the tradition of serving delicious food in the most entertaining, humorous and communal environment. Every dish from the beef, to shrimp, fish, chicken, mushroom, potato and even the sake were some of the best we've had in Japan. The staff are all attentive and only serve to add to the warm, homey atmosphere where guests become part of the show, being tested to see if any have the strength to hold the serving paddle with a small dish balanced. Back in 2009 the children were invited to help with the making of mochi which we were served for dessert. I understand space constraints but that was an integral and special memory. Thanks for a wonderful evening

Nah this is NOT the place. Had a nicer review but had to come back to edit this. So buns. No menu with prices, small portions, and mid quality. Got like 8 pieces of sashimi, some grilled veggies, 2 pieces of shrimp, and 1 small fish. Came out to 45,000 Yen for 2 people. Like it’s set up so you don’t even know how much you’re paying. Tastes like the meal prep I make when I’m balling on a budget. Tourist trap wouldn’t recommend it. Can find something similar for wayyyy cheaper.

This is a real review not some bot Food: pretty great but so overpriced we got 2 plates of sashimi 3 plates of vegetables 2 bowls of rice 5 waters 2 ginger ales 2 Diet Coke cola 1 grilled rock fish And one I can’t remeber but it definitely didn’t look expensive and the total was And a few other stuff $650 !! Service: one of the waiters was sick and coughing and sneezing but I mean other than that the serving was good but just so you know always look at the reviews before you reserve because the cancellation fee is $700 !!!! So we kind of had to go Atmosphere: Do not come here if you are a vegetarian to not hurt animals like me Right in front of you are surrounded by dead fish looking straight at you but the worst part of the animal cruelty is the prawns These little prawns all in this tiny circlular aquarium just waiting to die When someone orders prawns the chef just takes them out and boils them alive Really sad to who respects animals I know it shows that these prawns are fresh but would you really boil a shrimp alive right in front of your customers Now of course I do not want to shut this place down I just want to make some adjustments and respect other people that don’t wanna see shrimps suffering Good food Nice people Bad atmosphere

This spot has great food and an amazing experience. The staff are all so kind and helpful, and have fun along with you. It may be “touristy” but if you’re here from out of town/country, that is what you are lol. We had a blast and recommend this spot for an interactive Japan dining experience!

This was the most disappointing experience in our Japan trip!!! Too much show, good food, but nothing extraordinary, the bill was 80 000 for a dinner of 2 people with couple of beers and several glasses of sake!!!! Unbelievable!!! In comparison we went for a lunch to the blow minded fantastic omakase for 50 000, but it was experience beyond everything. Do not recommend go this place, sincerely very disappointed ☹️.
